1/2 Wave Spacing Advantages
The spacing of elements produces a reduction in downward radiation levels
The array's VSWR bandwith is increased at the antenna input
Additional elements per antenna
aperture grants a modest increase in power gain
The half wavelength spaced antenna array is a variation
of the standard, full wavelength spaced array and is
available for all styles of ERI antennas. The half
wavelength has several benefits: the diminished downward
RF level may enhance a station' capability to comply with
OSHA safe radiation level standards; reduce the
possibility of RFI problems in studio equipment,
telephone lines and other RF sensitive devices; the
antenna is less susceptible to environmental factors; the
rate of VSWR change due to radial ice accumulation is
minimized; the increase in antenna power gain will allow
for reduced TPO requirements and increase ERP without
transmitter or transmission line changes.
